Cleverness, creativity and quality noticed by all
Sue made the whole process of designing and producing my logo, business cards and compliment slips easy. When we started I had no idea what I wanted and she came up with great ideas and organised everything. I always receive comments about the quality of my cards are as well as how clever they are. I would recommend her services to anyone.
Design expertise and guidance leads to the right look
We now have professional well-designed stationery thanks to Sue's design expertise and ability to assist us in identifying the 'look' we wanted. We also have a redesigned website that is attractive, informative and meets our needs - again thanks to Sue's guidance and expertise.
Understanding our needs and providing creative ideas
The Mosaic Association of Australia found Sue Liu to be an amazing resource of ideas, committed to understanding the needs of our association and enthusiastic to deal with. Sue helped shift the look and feel of the Mosaic Association and present to the public an association that has a welcoming feel with a professional attitude. Thank you Sue.
Our campaign plan for a strategic facelift a success!
The Alarm Factory needed to re-brand as our security services had expanded well beyond providing just alarm systems. I worked directly with Sue who took our wishes into account, planned our marketing and the communications strategy to our customers made the whole process very easy for us. First, we worked together to select a new trading name - Integral Security Management - and then we worked on designing our new logo. Sue and her graphic designer presented a number of logo designs and one really stood out! Within a couple of weeks, we had our new trading name, our logo and Sue helped us write and implement our communication campaign introducing customers to our new logo and trading name. Our customers have warmed to our new trading name and our distinctive logo will carry us well into the 21st Century - thanks to Zulu Communications. The whole process was professionally managed and very relaxed at the same time. If we had to do it again, I would not change a thing.
Great insights for my business
Minding Your Business has been steadily growing for the past three years based on the quality of service provided. I have known Sue for a couple of years and thought MYB was ready for the next step. The thorough initial interview was a very worthwhile process. The questionnaire was the most detailed I have ever seen. The report we received as a result of the initial interview provided great insights for my business. It told me clearly what we didn't want to hear "I needed to define my goals better", but three months down the track I have gained the clarity and control I was lacking to take my business to the next step.
Notions and ideas into words and tangible tools
My quandary was how to get myself started coordinating renovations projects, making suggestions, introducing trusted tradesmen and materials, being the Renovator's Right Hand Woman!! How could I promote and inform clients about the wide variety of services and skills I have to offer in a concise professional brochure, without sounding too self-promoting. The answer was meeting Sue Liu, discussing and melding ideas and voila "I'm on my way" with my great brochure written, designed and printed by Zulu.
Strategic planning leads to impressive new brand and marketing campaigns
Before starting the re-branding process with Zulu, I only had the notion that I wanted to - needed to - make a change, but had no idea how to proceed. Sue Liu of Zulu Communications put together a structure for the process and we worked, together, on each step, one by one. These steps were manageable, and comprehensible, stages. Sue's research and brainstorming led us to come up with a name that resonated with my vision for the business and the design team came up with some innovative and eye-catching options for our visual branding. Our business has undergone a major transformation that has given management and staff a boost, has evoked compliments from our clients and impressed many potential clients.
Refreshingly professional, approachable and knowledgeable
My business, The Beauty Tutor had evolved and I knew that my web content and marketing material was not moving with my business. I was looking for someone to help me with my website copy and material and I knew as soon as I met Sue, I'd found the right person. I previously had a bad experience with someone calling themselves a 'marketing expert' who asked very broad questions, incorrectly summed up my business and then put me in an incorrect category and insisted on selling me a packaged service. During the first meeting with Sue she asked me very thorough questions about my business and it was refreshing to meet someone who was professional, approachable and knowledgeable in marketing. I was confident she was able to help me with my web content and stood by her integrity and reputation. All of my needs were met and I am extremely happy and proud of the outcome. Thank you to Zulu Communications, you have helped me enormously and I look forward to working with Sue and her team in the future.
You’ve been my favourite client, thanks for all the referrals
I thought I should let you know that this is my last week looking after your account. So I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your help, time and patience over the last three years as you’ve been my favourite client and an absolute pleasure to service and deal with since day one, you will be sorely missed. Thank you for all your business referrals too!!
A Brand new website in a short amount of time – just like we asked!
A magazine article on our Company prompted us to expedite the development of our website. It also meant that our lead time was very short as we wanted our website up and running by the time the magazine came out. With limited knowledge in setting up websites, the task was daunting. Enter Sue Liu from Zulu. Sue sat down with us and ran through the process from start to finish. She also listened to us. Sue followed up with a documented scope and action plan complete with deadline, responsibilities and importantly, a budget. One of the key issues for us was that we had as much control as possible over the content and look of our website. Sue embraced this and articulated our vision to the web designer and builder. As the mock ups for our website came through there were bits and pieces we wanted to change. The changes happened - no fuss! Setting up the website meant a lot of work within a very short time frame. Sue guided us through this and we achieved our objectives - a website that works for us, delivered on time and on budget.
Energy, knowledge and stakeholder management skills were critical
I had the pleasure of working alongside Sue at Kogarah City Council during our website redesign and upgrade project in 2008. Sue managed to bring together various stakeholder groups both internal and external to the organisation and ensured that the project was a great success. Sue did a great job of managing competing interests from several key stakeholders. She also motivated internal staff to deliver a great new website design. Sue's energy, knowledge and mediation skills were a critical component to the success of our project and I'd highly recommend her.
Commitment and passion for the project leads to outstanding results
Sue Liu from Zulu Communications joined our team at Kogarah Council for a period of four months to help re-evaluate and redefine our Media and Communications operations and to lead the redevelopment of our website. Sue stepped into the role whilst assisting with the recruitment of this key management position at Council. She worked directly with our Mayor, Councillors, Executive Management and staff to ensure that Media and Communications issues received the focus, enthusiasm, energy and attention which is required in this critical area of Council. The website redevelopment was one of the key projects Sue managed for us. She was the driver and facilitator of this very complicated project. She managed and worked with all of internal management and stakeholder teams, IT and Graphic Designers and external suppliers to ensure the efficient, accurate and appropriate foundations for the redevelopment of our website. Her understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of the development combined with her ability to communicate and work positively and enthusiastically with our team was a critical factor in gaining the co-operation and agreement of all parties and for the success of the project. Sue also helped us further develop relationships in our business community which continues to be a very valuable asset. Thanks, Sue for your wonderful commitment and passion for the project, not to mention the outstanding results, in such a short time frame.
Successful, high quality campaigns build our reputation
Sue Liu has provided our organisation with a powerhouse of professional knowledge, skill, resources and sheer energy to achieve several successful campaigns to build our reputation and pride in the work that we do. Sue's ability to engage with the staff and help them realise their ideas, together with Sue's personal creativity has seen a range of events and campaigns come to fruition in short timeframes and with high-quality outcomes. Sue's networking abilities have also provided the Hospital with great added value as she has represented us and developed strong, ongoing relationships with local stakeholders and partners.
Professional, enthusiastic service
Sue was retained by NCS as a Business, Marketing and Communications consultant for 3.5 years working primarily in marketing orientated roles. This started with the rebranding of the company in 2008. She always provided a professional service, was enthusiastic and ensured timely delivery of her services. In particular, her editing, production and management of the company quarterly newsletter was a highlight.
A pro-active supplier who follows up everything to its conclusion
Sue is an absolute professional in her field. Jobs are completed on time and to your specifications. No stones are left unturned to get the job done. Not only is she competent, professional but also a pleasure to work with. Being in supply chain, it makes my job so much easier when your supplier is so pro-active and follows up everything to its conclusion. I have no reservations in recommending her business to others.
Solutions from outside the box
Zulu Communications continues to be integral in directing NCS toward achieving the world-class recognition it deserves. NCS pursues excellence at every level of our business. Sue has been able to create and manage the image of excellence we seek in the workplace and our industry, with a focused Marketing plan that requires “thinking out of the box”. The results she achieves exceeded our expectations considerably. We are proud of the NCS brand that represents us as a professional, world-class provider in a dynamic global industry to our clients, potential clients, suppliers and staff.
Leadership, quality and commitment from Sue
NCS was seeking assistance to rebrand and reposition the company in order to win new business especially from the multi-national developers moving into PNG. Step 1 was a research and evaluation stage which ensured that any action we took had clarity and alignment with the NCS Vision. In a short space of time, Sue set about completing an achievable, detailed action plan to meet our short and long term objectives focusing on communications, marketing and strategic management. This resulted in the creation of a new logo and brand identity and complete re-launch of our brand within 4 months. This was also done in tandem with the complete redevelopment and technical upgrade of the NCS website to a professional standard. Over the following 3 years, Zulu continued to ensure we maintained focused on building our brand internally, working closely with the executive and operational teams around PNG. Zulu redeveloped and created new marketing and advertising collateral, managed numerous campaigns including; new uniforms, merchandise, staff handbook, staff recognition and reward program and introduced a long-overdue healthy lifestyle program for use by all our staff and customers. One of the key achievements was the redevelopment of your company newsletter, GADONA which underwent a revitalization to reflect our brand and delivered a consistent message to multiple NCS stakeholders. Sue produced 10 issues of Gadona, liaising with our staff and managers from 23 sites in PNG and always achieving the publication deadline. Sue represented our company at industry events, had input into business development, which ultimately resulted in the formation of new joint venture businesses, The Alliance Group, servicing the PNG LNG pipeline for Exxon Mobil. This would not have been achieved but for Sue’s tenacity, her attention to detail and responsiveness, all of which reflect her professional commitment and focus on her client’s needs. Coupled with an effervescent approach to her work, it enabled NCS to achieve the goals it had set itself – recognition as PNG’s premier service company and winning business in the largest resource project ever undertaken in Papua New Guinea. If you are seeking results with nothing less than a proactive professional, then look no further than Zulu Communications – you will not be disappointed.
Expert, on time, creative!
Sue undertook marketing and rebranding work for one of our subsidiaries (NCS) and one of our large J/V companies. It's fair to say that her work has been highly professional - Gadona (a company newsletter) is widely recognised throughout PNG and remains one of the key marketing platforms for NCS, the largest hospitality company in PNG. Sue was also instrumental in the rebranding of NCS and the key positioning of the company to take on hospitality for the massive LNG project in PNG. Sue also worked closely with management including organising and facilitating 4 of NCS' annual conferences. In a nutshell, Sue is professional and is very good at what she does. -
Sue is a doer
Sunrise children and I are very lucky to have people like Sue Liu who came into our lives, saw our needs and got off her bum and does something about it. She is a doer, not a gonnadoer. Sue is a giver who has given so much over the years. When I meet people I have a button that just switches off when the chemistry is not there and a button that screams when I meet a kindred spirit. When Sue and I met my button went ballistic! She has “adopted” Sunrise and done so much to help us with fund-raising, even when she was unemployed, and has been embraced by many of the children there.
Energy and enthusiasm with great skills
Sue and I met while she was working in the St George region, firstly from St George Private Hospital and later with Kogarah Council. Sue's energy and enthusiasm provide a point of difference and her marketing and communications skills are second-to-none. I'd love an opportunity to work with Sue in the future.
Delivers work beyond scope
Sue is a highly motivated, multi-talented, extremely organised, delivers work beyond her given scope has a can-do attitude to all projects and brings in results on time.
Vision, creativity and commitment delivers high-level outcomes
I've had the pleasure of knowing Sue since 2009 and have worked with her clients on two occasions so far. Sue is incredibly astute in determining her clients' needs to match their vision, managing the implementation process and her commitment to delivering high-level outcomes is second to none. She is a creative ideas person who develops targeted business, marketing & communication strategies and campaigns. I wholeheartedly recommend her.
A true professional
I have known Sue for a long time. This is a lady who knows her stuff. Her experience in marketing knows no equal. Her hunger to share this experience is infectious. I have seen Sue take her business through many stages to the beginning of a new business, the typical and expected growth stages of an international business servicing clients in Australia and Overseas. Her approach to dealing with people is to provide the information strategies and then provide the support and structure to implement. A true professional. I have no problem in recommending Sue as an Expert in her industry and as a good friend.
Quality networking experiences
My first experience at OBK was for a Zulu Communications networking event, I loved it so much that I have already been back twice. It is a really fun way to connect with people in a non-awkward networking environment plus, I felt that I was doing something really helpful. I always leave feeling inspired and smiling. The events are very well organised, OBK make you feel welcome and part of something ‘bigger’ and while it is nice to be able to give something back, I always walk away feeling like I am the one who has gained more. I am looking forward to the next event and I cannot recommend these experiences highly enough.
Great idea to combine community building with OBK
Our Big Kitchen is a great concept and lots of fun. Not only do you get to meet wonderful people who are often interested in similar projects, and therefore a great networking opportunity, there is food, glorious food and lots of it!!! You get not just to prepare it (which is fun when you are doing it with others) but you get to eat as well! Combining a hands-on purposeful activity with a guest speaker, where you learn about a particular project, is a great way to be informed about a project, become involved and raise funds. Congratulations to the organisers, to the endless stream of volunteers, and to Sue and Zulu for organising such meaningful events.
Perfect for our group to build new connections
As a steering committee member of the Sydney Development Circle (SDC), I’m always after new ways of engaging community and bringing like-minded people together. The SDC event Sue organised at OBK was the perfect platform for our members to build new connections, and support the refugee community through House of Welcome. Cooking together cancelled out any awkwardness, as we had something to do while we chatted with new people. Having everyone stirring, chopping and kneading together helped to create a sense of our own community. The shared activities allowed people from diverse backgrounds, sectors, and experience levels to find common ground, and acted as a springboard for discussions on local and global development issues. I’ve always been a firm believer that food brings people together in a unique way, and our experience at OBK confirmed this. Our members were able to contribute to community, and connect with each other in new ways over food. Sue’s excellent facilitation at OBK helped to expand SDC’s community of development professionals, and we received great feedback from those who participated. - Lila Kennelly
Heart warming events for my members
I felt motivated to organise a cook-in event at Our Big Kitchen (OBK), so that my members could experience a feel-good "give something back" activity. The cook-in at OBK, exceeded all of my expectations in terms of social and interactive activity. Everyone was smiling and sharing warm and friendly conversations while working side-by-side chopping up ingredients and preparing meals. I think the most striking element of the cook-in was seeing the stack of meals packaged up and ready to send off. A most heart-warming feeling!
At the end of the cook-in, we gathered in a local coffee shop, buzzing and feeling great that our contribution would soon be reaching those less fortunate than ourselves.
I fully support the good work that Zulu and OBK do for Sydney's community, long may it continue. I hope to spread the word and get more good people involved. If you only get involved in one charitable activity this year, make sure its a cook-in with Zulu at OBK!!! -
And from participants:
Sue helped to transform Richmond Hospital
Sue worked with me and the team at St John of God Richmond Hospital to rejuvenate our service. Sue did an amazing job, she connected and motivated the staff to set goals and achieve them. We went with a service that was lacking in professional appearance to one of the best if not the best in our group. We tackled the whole service from the paint on the walls to the brochures we delivered to GPs. I would highly recommend Sue for your service. She brings passion wisdom and motivation to your workplace. Sue is a very hard worker and has very high expectations.
Valuable for getting closer to success
When I started my business I was happily going along using what I like to call "the hummingbird approach". That is, fluttering between enjoyable tasks, following all my bright ideas and ignoring less pleasant tasks for another day. What I desperately needed was a strong rudder to guide my wandering business. Someone to get me to face some facts about my business and confront the hard stuff head-on. Sue instantly recognised that the little that I had in the way of marketing materials were mismatched and did not communicate the essence of my business to my customers. She mentored me through creating my brand and marketing materials that I could be proud of. Sue knew when to speed me up and when to slow me down. She got me to focus on how my business was perceived in the market place, and how to create the perception I wanted. After doing the hard work with Sue it came to light that my business was not as viable as I thought it was, nor was it really what I wanted in the longer term. I am now working on another business. I can apply what I have learned with Sue on my new venture. The lessons have been learned and the skills are transferable. The experience has all been so valuable and is getting me to closer each day to business success. Ever stoic and proactive, it is obvious that she just "gets" marketing. If you don't get it, or even if you think you do and are wondering why you are not getting results, I recommend you get Sue onboard to get serious about your business and really take it to the next level.
